TRICK-OR-TREAT w/ SWAMP DOGG, ALANA AMRAM's DR TEETH & THE ELECTRIC MAYHEM MUPPETS COVER BAND

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31 | TV EYE | 2PM DOORS | 3PM SHOW | ALL AGES | $26 ADVANCE | $35 DOS

SWAMP DOGG and his all-star band return to TV EYE on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31 for an epic career-spanning matinee set that's also an all-ages HALLOWEEN experience featuring NYC's preeminent Muppets cover band, spooky decor, Southern food by LUTHER'S, theme beverages, and plenty of candy!

NY NIGHT TRAIN is thrilled to present the artistically restless 84-year-old entertainer, musician, writer, producer, and eternally prolific legend known as SWAMP DOGG with his killer soul band. First appearing on record in 1954, JERRY WILLIAMS didn’t burst into national rhythm and blues consciousness until he waxed early-60s twist-era classics like “Chapel On The Hill,” “Let’s Do The Wobble,” and “I’m The Lover Man." By the late 60s JERRY WILLIAMS' consistent touring and recording, including tracks like all-time Northern Soul favorite “If You Ask Me (Because I Love You),” propelled Williams to the top of the era's highly-competitive soul circuit and into a writer/producer/A&R man job at Atlantic Records. Frustrated by the constraints of the music industry, he dropped LSD, stepped into Macon's legendary Capricorn Studios, and reemerged in 1970 as the musical superhero the world still knows and loves as SWAMP DOGG! His iconic LP “TOTAL DESTRUCTION TO YOUR MIND" was followed by a rapid succession of classics like “RAT ON!”, “CUFFED, COLLARED, & TAGGED,” and “GAG A MAGGOT.” Along the way he also wrote and produced canonical tracks for a diversity of acts - everybody from Johnny Paycheck and Gene Pitney to Irma Thomas and Z.Z. Hill. Because he engaged in anti-war and civil rights activism that eventually brought him to Vietnam with Jane Fonda in 1971, his name was added to Richard Nixon's enemy list, J. Edgar Hoover's un-American list, and a music industry black list at the height of his fame. While SWAMP DOGG subsequently achieved varying levels of success recording, touring, and exploring nearly every facet of the music industry in the decades that followed, nobody would've anticipated the wild popularity he would encounter with a new generation of fans at the end of the 2010s. 2018’s “LOVE, LOSS, & AUTO-TUNE” received rave reviews everywhere and prompted features in nearly every major media outlet (New York Times, NPR, Rolling Stone, New Yorker, Washington Post, Pitchfork, etc). Deep into his 70s, the original D-O-double-G was selling out major venues again, his new tracks were racking up millions of streams, and his broad back-catalogue was widely re-released and compiled. The frenzied momentum never lets up as he's continues to tour and churn out stellar works like 2020’s “SORRY YOU COULDN’T MAKE IT,” 2022’s “I NEED A JOB… SO I CAN BUY MORE AUTO-TUNE,” 2024's “BLACKGRASS,” and his latest "SWAMP DOGG CONTEMPLATES THE AFTERLIFE." He was recently the subject of the award-winning 2024 documentary "SWAMP DOGG GETS HIS POOL PAINTED" and Pioneer Works published his acclaimed 2025 cookbook "IF YOU CAN KILL IT I CAN COOK IT." Get ready for JERRY WILLIAMS R&B classics, funky SWAMP DOGG 70s jams, and burning ballads to his self-penned country standards and recent viral hits to his freshest new material.

ALANA AMRAM (Hunx & His Punx, Derya Yıldırım & Grup Şimşek, Habibi, Death Valley Girls, etc) reunites her DOCTOR TEETH & THE ELECTRIC MAYHEM tribute band to open for one of her favorite artists. Her cross-genre assemblage of some NYC's most notable underground musicians abandon their identities, don paper mache masks, and frolic through a vast repertoire of gems from across THE MUPPETS' joyous catalog.

While this show is for his fans of every generation, NEW YORK NIGHT TRAIN is presenting this as an ALL-AGES HALLOWEEN MATINEE to encourage parents to take their kids to witness one of the only remaining original soul legends still in his prime. They'll never forget it! Make this the first stop on your trick-or-treat adventure. Grab your tickets now because SWAMP DOGG will sell out once again. Don't miss this rare opportunity to catch one of the most consistently compelling voices of the last seven decades of contemporary music in the intimate confines of TV EYE at this exuberant Halloween fiesta!
