Eagles of Death Metal is an American rock band from Palm Desert, California, founded in 1998 by best friends Jesse Hughes and Joshua Homme. The group has included a wide range of other musicians that appear on the band’s studio albums and live shows. EODM’s current touring lineup includes the ever-present Hughes, Leah Bluestein on drums, Scott Shiflett on guitar and Dustin Douglas on bass

Despite their band name, Eagles of Death Metal is not a death metal band and is intended to be humorous. With a sound that's a combination of “bluegrass slide guitar mixed with stripper drum beats and Canned Heat vocals," and a frontman in Hughes who is known for his over-the-top stage histrionics and evangelistic interaction with his fans, the band’s live performances are a sight to be seen.

EODM has released four studio albums to date -- Peace Love Death MetalDeath By SexyHeart On, and Zipper Down -- and has toured the world extensively over the past two decades. A brand-new studio album is in the works for a worldwide release in 2025.

EODM first appeared on Homme's The Desert Sessions Volumes 3 & 4, released in 1998. Over the next few years, Homme experienced huge success with QOTSA but returned to EODM in 2004 to release their debut Peace Love Death Metal in March 2004. Songs like “I Only Want You” and “Miss Alissa,” from the album were used in TV commercials and the album became a source for film, video game and movie trailers.

The band followed up their debut with Death By Sexy in 2006, and Heart On in 2008. After years of touring the US, Europe and the rest of the world, the band went back to the studio and started work on Zipper Down. That album eventually saw the light of day in fall 2015

While the band was on stage at the Bataclan in Paris, on Nov. 13, 2015, terrorists stormed the venue and attacked the audience. Only 3 weeks later, the band returned to the stage with U2 in Paris in their first concert appearance since the attack. The bands performed a cover of Patti Smith's "People Have the Power" together before EODM performed "I Love You All the Time." In a statement following the performance, Hughes thanked U2 and said that the band would return to Paris in February 2016 to finish their interrupted show. In December 2015, the band announced the full resumption of their European tour, which they had renamed the "Nos Amis Tour" ("Our Friends Tour"). The tour included a date at the Olympia in Paris on Feb.16. Ticket holders from the November show at the Bataclan were invited to attend the Paris concert for free.

A documentary directed by Colin Hanks about the band and the aftermath of the Bataclan attack, titled Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends), premiered on HBO in early 2017. The following year, EODM scored the movie Super Troopers 2.

Eagles of Death Metal Present Boots Electric Performing The Best Songs We Never Wrote was released in June of 2019, featuring 13 covers of songs that have inspired Hughes over the years. The band completed a sold-out headline tour of Europe following the album’s release.

The band has since performed in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, the U.K. and Europe several times from 2020-2024.

Built first and foremost as a live band, HEADSEND’s rise has been defined on stage. Over the past year, the trio - Rasmus King, Kyuss King and Bon Soric - have sharpened their reputation through relentless touring, supporting Wunderhorse on their sold-out Australian run and stepping onto arena and stadium stages with Tool and AC/DC.

Their debut Angel Glands EP (March 27) features the ferocious tracks 'Stove' and 'Chugg', alongside woozy anthem 'And Angel'. Drawing directly from the raw onstage energy shown during these performances, the EP channels the unfiltered intensity of HEADSEND’s live shows. Recorded live in- studio by Nick DiDia (Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine, Stone Temple Pilots), the EP preserves the dynamics and physicality that have fuelled their word-of-mouth rise as a live act.

With more than 40+ shows played across Australia in the last year alone, HEADSEND have built

momentum the traditional way - in rooms, on stages and in front of crowds. The upcoming run of dates, April AU headline shows, then their first appearance at The Great Escape UK, marks the next expansion of that live footprint into the UK and Europe, followed by US dates.

Represented globally by TaP Management (Lana Del Rey, Dermot Kennedy) and WME Agency, the band is positioned for a breakout year on stage and in the studio in 2026.
