Wake up every Sunday from 9:15-10am with Heart of the Blue Ridge Sangha for a Mindfulness Meditation session in The Sanctuary's sunny main hall.
Who We Are:
We come together to meditate and share the practices of mindful living. Our practice is rooted in the Plum Village tradition as established by Thich Nhat Hanh, Buddhist monk, Zen Master, and peace activist. Mindfulness may be described as one’s capacity to be truly present in our own lives, to be more fully aware of what we are doing as we are doing it. We practice mindfulness in the spirit of self-care and core happiness. Development and participation in a more compassionate society is central to our mission as well.
What We Do:
We practice sitting and walking meditation regularly. Additionally, we will listen to mindfulness teachings, typically presented through selected readings. We encourage the spending of time together, fostering a peaceful and supportive community. We welcome new friends. No previous meditation experience is necessary.
**Please come to the REAR DOOR which will be open at 9:00 am. We will begin our practice at 9:15 am. Upon entering, please take your shoes off unless you have a need to wear them. Please try to arrive BEFORE 9:15 am.
