This November 14 will mark one year since we lost the inimitable Todd Snider - "the heartbroken troubadour, the wry observer, and the brilliant itinerant." Come along as Nashville troubadours Allen Thompson, Lilly Winwood, Lilly Hiatt, Jon Latham, and Rachel Cole backed by The Floorboards celebrate our Heartfelt Hero.

Allen Thompson is a Nashville-based singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer. With deep roots in Southern rock, Americana, and soul, Thompson's music blends diverse influences into a distinctive sound. His work is known for its authenticity, drawing on the rich musical traditions of the South while pushing boundaries with modern sensibilities. Whether performing solo or as part of LadyCouch, Thompson brings an energetic stage presence and a passion for creating music that resonates on a deep emotional level.

If Lilly Winwood's music resists easy definition, it's because she grew up between worlds.

Raised between the English countryside and Nashville, Tennessee, she has often described herself as growing up in “mid-air”; caught between two cultures, two musical traditions, and two ways of telling stories. Long before she began writing songs, she sang soprano in school choirs across the Cotswolds, becoming Head Chorister at just eleven years old. Encouraged from an early age by her father, Steve Winwood, those years of singing harmony shaped the musical instincts that continue to define her work today: an ear for melody, an instinct for emotional phrasing, and the belief that songs should be lived in before they're written.

Today, Winwood writes with the eye of a novelist and the instincts of someone raised on timeless records. Her songs wander comfortably between folk, southern soul, Americana and classic rock without ever belonging entirely to one tradition. They're populated by motel rooms, diners, long highways, English gardens, East Nashville back porches and the complicated interior lives that unfold inside them. As Dana Miller of QRO Magazine noted, "Her abiding love of books is strikingly evident in all of her songs” - a quality that gives her writing an uncommon sense of character, place and emotional detail.

After moving permanently to Nashville at eighteen, she found her footing in the city's independent songwriting community, touring extensively throughout the United States and sharing stages with artists including Todd Snider, Michael McDonald and Emmylou Harris. Along the way, she recorded a new version of "Higher Love" with Steve Winwood for Hershey’s; a performance that Adweek called "a true anthem spot" before it found a second life in Netflix's The Umbrella Academy.

Her forthcoming album, Undiscovered Pleasure, produced by Dan Knobler (Lake Street Dive, Allison Russell), marks the most expansive chapter of her career to date. Soulful, cinematic and emotionally fearless, the record leans into openness rather than certainty, exploring what can happen when we stop trying to control our lives and instead meet them with curiosity. It's a collection that feels both timeless and startlingly personal; an artist embracing every place she's ever called home, while finally sounding unmistakably like herself.

The last few years have been a little hazy for Lilly Hiatt, who finds herself searching for answers on her striking new album, Forever. Recorded at home with her husband, Coley Hinson who produced and played most of the instruments, Forever grapples with growth and change, escape and anxiety, self-loathing and self-love. The songs are intensely vulnerable, full of diaristic snapshots and deeply personal ruminations, but they’re also broad invitations to find yourself in their unflinching emotional excavations. The result is a raw, unvarnished work of love and trust that walks the line between alt-rock muscle and singer/songwriter sensitivity, a bold, guitar-driven exploration of maturity and adulthood from an artist who wants you to know you’re not alone, no matter how lost you may feel.

Born in Los Angeles and raised in Tennessee, Hiatt first earned buzz with a pair of early solo records before breaking out with 2017’s Trinity Lane, which helped earn dates with the likes of John Prine, Margo Price, Drive-By Truckers, and Hiss Golden Messenger in addition to festival slots from Pilgrimage to Luck Reunion. NPR called the album “courageous and affecting,” while Rolling Stone hailed it as “the most cohesive and declarative statement of the young songwriter’s career.” Hiatt returned in 2020 with the similarly well-received Walking Proof, and in 2021 with Lately, which The Boston Herald said showcased her “knack for plainspoken, poetic lyrics” and Uncut proclaimed “captivating.”

The Floorboards are an American roots rock ensemble hailing from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The band marries rock & roll and country roots with the sights and sounds of southern mountain towns. Jake and Rob shake the leaves from the trees. Chris coaxes stringed cries from the hills and hollers. Matt writes and sings the story.

The Floorboards released their second studio album, Borrowed Moon, on November 21, 2017. Borrowed Moon finds the Roanoke, VA based band delicately walking a line between singer/songwriter, Matt Browning’s, evocative lyrics and guitarist/songwriter, Chris Blankenship’s, tastefully blistering guitar work.

Since the Floorboards’ debut album in 2012, the years have gone by in a flash of Ford Econoline and rock ‘n’ roll. Borrowed Moon was given its first kick at life in 2013 with the band’s original lineup. Something with the music didn’t feel right, so they took to the road to figure it out. As the dust settled, the band experienced lineup changes, a few broken bones - and the songs that singer/songwriter Matt Browning penned with an acoustic guitar became their proud workingman’s rock ‘n’ roll music. Somewhere between Birmingham, Alabama and New York City, the band agreed a total change of scenery was needed to drive their next album forward.

Giving up the relative ease of a hometown studio in Virginia for North Carolina, The Floorboards found Mitch Easter (R.E.M, Wilco, Pavement, Drive by Truckers) and his Fidelitorium Recordings studio facility in Kernersville, NC to be the ideal fit for harnessing the band’s southern Americana sound while giving it an old-school touch – recording the entire album on analog 2” tape.

Since forming in Roanoke, Virginia in 2012, The Floorboards have toured extensively throughout the East Coast, sharing stages with Dwight Yoakam, Trampled by Turtles, Darryl Scott, Tim O’Brien, Yarn, Los Colognes, Royal Southern Brotherhood, Will Overman, and many more.
