LATE FOR THE TRAIN
HopMonk Sebastopol - The Abbey

ABOUT:
Late for the Train was born from an eclectic group of musicians who all share a love of American roots music. Part songwriter’s storybook and part jamgrass playground, the band’s powerful live show uplifts the spirit and rouses the soul.
Infused with the honest depth of the coastal redwood forests of Northern California, their songs grapple with the wonder, contradictions, and stark truths of living in the modern age. The band released their second studio album, The Flowers of Yesteryear, in April of 2024, with a third album forthcoming in 2026.
In 2024, Late for the Train debuted internationally in Ireland at the Westport Folk & Bluegrass Festival, Doolin Folk Festival, and on national Gaelic TV, which featured their original song “The Trouble With Love” as part of the annual Fleadh Cheoil festival in Co. Wexford.
At home in the states, they’ve found a dedicated fan base touring up and down the West Coast, with standout performances at Whale Rock Music & Arts Festival, Kate Wolf Music Festival, and Strawberry Music Festival.
In addition to performing, the members are passionate educators & community collaborators. In 2017, band founders Dave & Laura created and directed Every Folk, a 3 day all-inclusive camp for adults to learn fiddle tunes and folk music while exploring American dance, food, herbalism, and craftsmanship.
