About Green Velvet
Green Velvet is the alter ego of Curtis Alan Jones, originally known as Cajmere, who rose to fame in the '90s Chicago house scene with quirky, high-energy club hits like “Preacher Man,” “Answering Machine,” and “The Stalker.” He launched influential labels Cajual and Relief Records, helping define the sound of Chicago house and showcasing talents like DJ Sneak and Paul Johnson. His music stands out for its infectious beats, humor, and commitment to the genre's roots, even as he crossed into other styles and themes. Jones left a master’s program in chemical engineering at UC-Berkeley to pursue music full-time, drawing on influences from sci-fi, video games, and his DJ father. Over the years, Green Velvet evolved into a genre-blending icon with a uniquely bold and playful sound.
LaLa Land
What it is: A signature party series headlined by Green Velvet (Curtis Jones) blending house and techno across immersive, high-energy events.
Tour history & locations: Since its debut around Miami Music Week in 2018, La La Land has popped up in major markets—including Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Miami, Orlando, Dallas, and Phoenix—and at festivals like EDC Orlando .
