Whenever Grażyna Auguścik takes the stage, something extraordinary happens. Her music exists between tradition and modernity, Europe and America, composition and improvisation.

Joined by some of Chicago’s most acclaimed musicians - Rob Clearfield, John Kregor, Matt Ulery, and Jon Deitemyer - she leads an ensemble built on dialogue, trust, and collective creativity. Rather than a traditional vocalist-with-rhythm-section format, the quintet functions as five equal voices engaged in a continuous musical conversation.

The musicians have been performing together for more than fifteen years. During that time, they recorded an album and completed two highly successful European tours, earning praise from audiences and critics alike. Their long-standing collaboration has developed into a unique musical language defined by deep listening, spontaneity, and a shared artistic vision.

This special evening at Constellation will be more than a concert. It will also serve as a live recording session for the upcoming album “Graz and Boys: On The Way.”

Blending jazz with Polish roots, lyricism, and fearless improvisation, the ensemble creates music that is spontaneous, intimate, and deeply engaging.
