Bridge Percussion featuring Sachi Keiko

Following a debut collaboration concert at Constellation Chicago and the recording of a two-song single for NPR’s Tiny Desk Competition, Bridge Percussion and Sachi Keiko will come together once again to perform a full set of Keiko’s original songs. Originally written for and performed with a traditional four-piece band, Keiko’s music has been reimagined and rearranged to highlight the infinite expressive and creative capabilities of percussion. The members of Bridge Percussion and Sachi Keiko first crossed paths as students of Northwestern University’s classical percussion program, but have since come together to create music that goes beyond their classical roots. With this performance, they aim to showcase their shared passion for music in a way that blends influences from traditional chamber playing and orchestral percussion with elements of indie songwriting. By blending percussion and voice, they’ve crafted a performance that is unique, approachable, and demonstrates the versatility and limitless possibilities of the modern-day percussion ensemble.

Bridge Percussion started out as a summer project in 2024, when multiple generations of Northwestern alumni came together to perform the Chicago premiere of Andy Akiho’s Seven Pillars. Following a weekend of sold-out shows, Bridge Percussion now exists as a Chicago-based collective with a flexible cast of performers, and a unified goal to connect with audiences through percussion-based musical experiences that educate, excite, and inspire. Sachi Keiko is a multi-instrumentalist hailing from Las Vegas, NV. A longtime student of classical music, Sachi grew up playing the violin and piano, and eventually earned her degree in Percussion Performance at Northwestern University. In 2022, she moved to Brooklyn, where she quickly found herself drawn into a vibrant songwriting community that inspired her to start writing music of her own. For the past 3 years, Sachi has been performing in venues across NYC, finding a new voice and a reinvigorated love for music using her own words. INSTAGRAM | YOUTUBE

Ava Brennan is an experimental folk artist born and raised in Chicago. Inspired by fingerstyle players like John Fahey and Nick Drake, as well as avante-garde artists like Laurie Anderson and Esperanza Spaulding, her unique songwriting dwells somewhere in the whimsical realm of prog-folk. She released her second single, "Event Horizon," in June of 2026. Her ensemble features Fiona Palenskyon on drums, Meredith Nesbitt on bass, and Seth Lauver on marimba. WEB | INSTAGRAM
