Carlos Elliot
Thursday, September 3 | Doors 6:00 PM | Show 8:00 PM
Carlos Elliot Jr. carries a sound with the ancient grooves — African and Native American roots, North Mississippi hills, Colombian Andes. Raw nerve and live wire. The kind of groove that gets under your skin and doesn't leave. His fifth album Soul Boogie — recorded on magnetic tape, hot tube valves, vinyl, produced by Bobby Gentilo — was built the way the music demands.
Fifteen countries. Four hundred and eighty stages. Delta juke joints to festivals of sixteen thousand. The Memphis Flyer called it "that half-cooked madness of R.L. Burnside and Muddy Waters." Jazz'n'More, Switzerland called it "meditative rhythm with an almost ceremonial groove."
Electric Hill Country Blues — built to move. Boots on the floor. Thursday night at Hernando's Hide-A-Way. Come ready.
Soul Boogie on vinyl — available at the show. @CarlosElliotJr
